This or That || Skirted

I found this skirt while thrifting last summer. I love the pleats and the chiffon. The $4.99 price tag meant my decision to buy and easy one. I wore it a few times mostly with oversized t-shirts and flat sandals. Like most of the country I’ve become a Marie Kondo fan girl and as I was cleaning out my closets I discovered not only does this little skirt spark joy, it’s perfect for early spring and the very first post in a series I’ve been wanting to do! I’m not sure which one I prefer….this or that…

I added one of my favorite blouses and a mustard colored cardigan. Tights and suede wedge booties complete a look that would be great for anytime I want to feel slightly more put together than my usual jeans and a sweater.

Going out at night, especially getting dressed up to go out at night, happens rarely these days. On the plus side, if we ever get a babysitter and manage to make it out, I have the perfect outfit to wear.

Uniform {worn}

I've adopted a uniform. If only my "ohmygosh why are you trying to stifle my creative soul by forcing me to wear this hideous uniform!!!" 15-year-old self could see me now as I happily put on some version of leggings, a top, and comfortable shoes every day. I'd also like to give my former self, the one who claimed leggings weren't pants, a swift kick. Toddler mamahood is hard and if the only way I can get through it is by wearing stretchy pants, then I say rock on.

This is the "edgier" version of my uniform. I mean as edgy as a suburban mom can get. Although, my twenty-something daughters informed me that only middle age moms where leather looking leggings! Whatever. One of the benefits of being a middle aged mom is that I left all the damns I had to give back in my thirties!

it's finally starting feel like fall around here! i celebrated by breaking out my boots!! we headed to a local farm on sunday morning for the annual sunflower festival.

i've been pining for a pair of frye boots for the longest time! i've purchased several non frye pair in my look for less quest. alas, none of them got it quite right. i finally decided to treat myself and i ordered them! as soon as they got here i felt guilty so, i sent them back. can you guess what happened next? i regretted not keeping them! ha! i once again logged on to amazon to order. this is where the story gets good...i looked up my beloved boots and they had one pair in a half size bigger than my normal size BUT they were only $170...and i had a $30 amazon credit!! you guys, i bought a pair of frye boot for a $140!! they fit perfectly too!

they were probably not the best choice for a messy, muddy morning of the farm but hashtag YOLO ;) i came home and let the mud dry. brushed it off and they still look great!

This post is sponsored by Everywhere Agency on behalf of Macy's;however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

By the end of August I think most of us are ready to say goodbye to the long, hot and hazy days of summer. I'm so ready for fall in all of it's booted, layered and pumpkin spiced glory!

I've been in mom style mode. Essentially wearing what is easiest and most comfortable for everyday kid wrangling! Before I had Rowan I thought I would be able to maintain my sense of style and sense of self. Yeah. Not so much,

In the past few months my interest in fashion has been reignited. My own style has shifted and I'm actually starting to feel excited about getting dressed again.

There a few things I want to add to my fall wardrobe. I'm so excited to be attending the Macy's Fashion Front Row event at Easton Town Center! Saturday September 17, Macy's will be throwing the hottest shopping party of the season!  Music, fun and fashion on a Saturday afternoon. Yes, please! You'll get to see the seasons latest trends and talk style with fashion insiders, Candace Read from LiveLoveandRead and Alexis Duffy and Alicia Ritchie of WanderandWhine. I'm especially excited to meet one of my favorite Project Runway All-Stars Alum, Asha Ama Daniels

 Did I mention the event is free?! Yaassss! Join me next week to get your fashion fix!
